{"id":965,"date":"2015-07-22T00:26:26","date_gmt":"2015-07-22T00:26:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rotaxnews.net\/?p=965"},"modified":"2015-07-22T04:43:57","modified_gmt":"2015-07-22T04:43:57","slug":"stock-instruments-first-to-announce-emu-for-new-915is","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rotaxnews.net\/?p=965","title":{"rendered":"STOCK INSTRUMENTS FIRST TO ANNOUNCE EMU for NEW 915iS!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Stock Flight Systems introduces Engine Management Unit for the new<a href=\"https:\/\/rotaxnews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/NewsRelease_Rotax_915iS.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-973\" src=\"https:\/\/rotaxnews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/NewsRelease_Rotax_915iS-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"NewsRelease_Rotax_915iS\" width=\"309\" height=\"309\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nRotax\u00ae 915 iS aircraft engine<\/p>\n<p>Oshkosh, Wisconsin (July, 22th, 2015) &#8211;<br \/>\nStock Flight Systems and RS Aerotech<br \/>\nintroduced the Engine Management Unit<br \/>\nfor BRP&#8217;s new Rotax\u00ae 915iS aero engine.<br \/>\nThe 4-cylinder, 136HP engine was officially announced to OEMs, media and<br \/>\ndistributors Airventure Oshkosh 2015, with deliveries envisaged for the second half of 2017.<br \/>\nBeing the inventor of the CANaerospace<br \/>\ndata bus protocol used with the Rotax\u00ae<br \/>\naero engines since the 912iS, Michael<br \/>\nStock was involved in the definition of the data bus interface for the new engine,<br \/>\nwhich now provides some advanced features for enhanced multi engine support<br \/>\nand maintenance data.<br \/>\nThe EMU 915iS of Stock Flight Systems and RS Aerotech communicates with the redundant CANaerospace data bus interface of the ECU and provides the pilot with all engine indications. The functionality includes continuous monitoring of the network health status, and the indication of all ECU generated warning and status messages. An optional fuel pressure sensor is included in the data display, and single lever operation is supported using an MT Propeller and governor.<br \/>\nThe EMU 915iS Engine Management Unit uses the same hardware as the EMU 912iS for the nonturbo engine, which can be software upgraded to support the turbocharged 915. It provides the pilot with all engine indications, provides continuous monitoring of the network health status, and the indication of all ECU generated warning and status messages.<br \/>\nUsing the advanced flight data recording and post processing capabilities of the EMU 915iS, engine trend monitoring now becomes reality for light sport aircraft engines. <a href=\"https:\/\/rotaxnews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/915iSEMU.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-976\" style=\"margin: 5px;\" src=\"https:\/\/rotaxnews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/915iSEMU-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"915iSEMU\" width=\"249\" height=\"249\" \/><\/a>The EMU software automatically records all ECU messages transmitted on the Rotax\u00ae 915iS CANaerospace networks for the entire engine lifetime. An integrated, front panel accessible SDHC interface is used for data storage, system configuration information and software upgrades. Included with the EMU 915iS is the Engine Monitoring Debriefing System (EMDS) software, a powerful toolbox which uses the<br \/>\ndata files recorded on the EMU 915iS SDHC card.<br \/>\nThe 4Hz GPS\/Galileo sensor of the EMU 915iS adds time correlated satellite data to the engine data recording, allowing to generate performance data from the combination of engine data with position, ground speed, height and time.
